Kenyan singer Kendi Kiremi has addressed her recent separation from her partner, rapper Timothy “Timmy TDat” Kimani, dismissing speculation that their breakup stemmed from disagreements over their newborn son.
Kiremi confirmed on Wednesday, September 2, that she and Timmy TDat had gone their separate ways, just weeks after welcoming their first child together.
In a statement shared on Instagram, the singer made it clear that although their romantic relationship had ended, the rapper remains actively involved in their son's life.
“To make things clear, my parting ways with Timmy Tdat has nothing to do with our son. He is a very present dad and a very good one. His son does not lack anything.”

Kiremi further defended the rapper against claims that he had neglected his responsibilities as a father.
According to the singer, Timmy continues to provide for their son, including covering medical expenses and other needs. She also said he has access to the child whenever he wants.
Her clarification comes after online speculation about the couple's sudden split, with some social-media users trying to link their separation to their responsibilities as parents.
Kiremi, however, urged the public not to make assumptions about their situation.
She also dismissed suggestions that she was preventing Timmy from being involved in his son's life, making it clear that she has no doubts about his role as the child's father.
The breakup comes shortly after welcoming their son.
The couple's separation comes only about a month after they welcomed their son in July 2026.
Kendi and Timmy had publicly announced their pregnancy in June through a maternity photoshoot, marking a more public chapter in their relationship.
In the photos, Kendi appeared in a red “Mother to Be” gown while Timmy kissed her baby bump.
The two had also collaborated musically and built a following around both their relationship and careers.
However, on August 28, Kendi announced that she had decided to end the relationship after giving the matter considerable thought.
“After much consideration, I’ve chosen to part ways with Timmy Tdat.”
She further clarified that their separation extended beyond their romantic relationship, stating that she was no longer his wife, girlfriend, or business partner.

Despite ending their relationship, Kendi stressed that their responsibilities as parents remain separate from whatever differences led to their breakup.
Her latest statement appears aimed at ending speculation while protecting her son's relationship with both parents.
For now, neither Kendi nor Timmy has publicly disclosed the specific reasons behind their separation.
Their breakup has nevertheless caught the attention of fans, particularly because it comes shortly after the couple publicly celebrated their pregnancy and the arrival of their baby.
