Journalist Liz Jackson has threatened to block anyone who is not registered to vote by next year.
Jackson made the comments public on her Instagram story, where she revealed that she plans to review her social media friends list.
In her list of all friends, anyone Jackson finds is not a registered vote will be cut off from her circle of people with similar ideologies.
“Next year kama huna kura nakublock,” Liz wrote.

Of course, this statement by the media personality is due to the renewed anger among Kenyans – including her – after watching the BBC documentary, Blood Parliament.
The documentary referred to the tragic events that took place at the Kenyan parliament buildings on June 25, 2024 during the Gen Z youth protest against the controversial finance bill.
The youth protested all day and finally managed to enter parliament in a chaotic manner but what followed was the security forces responding by opening fire on them despite hundreds of the youth apparently not being armed in any way other than Kenyan flags and their mobile phones.

The violence led to the deaths of at least 5 youths in the parliament buildings and attracted widespread criticism from within and outside the country in the way the police confronted the unarmed youths with gunfire.
Liz Jackson's statement aims to arouse the attention of young people - who are actually the majority in the voting ranks - and urge them to turn out in large numbers to vote in the 2027 elections. Jackson believes that it is only through the vote that young people's voices can be heard and the changes they want to see implemented can be done.
Liz Jackson is not the lone voice from the entertainment industry who has donned the garment of activism and decided to speak out on behalf of the many young people whose voices are often unheard.
Jackson is also a TV host and actress. Liz describes herself as a digital strategist and model who has been featured in several music videos.
Others who have been seen to be hurling heavy missiles at the government, especially for how it treated the young protesters last year, include beauty product entrepreneur Huddah Monroe, rapper Octopizzo, comedians Eric Omondi and Njugush among others.
