According to the Old Mutual Financial Services Monitor 2024, Kenyans are diversifying their savings strategies.

The survey shows that 47  per cent of Kenyans prefer saving in their businesses, while 45  per cent opt for banks.

Property investment is also popular, attracting 39  per cent of savers. SACCOs and chamas remain a key choice at 33  per cent, while 26  per cent utilize mobile money savings.

Livestock, a traditional form of wealth, is favored by 23  per cent, whereas trading and investing in shares account for just 7  per cent
