Speaking during her recent visit to Kenya, Zari shared insights into her dynamic with Diamond, who is also the father of two of her five children.
Zari explained that while she and Diamond have a good relationship, it’s purely based on co-parenting and not romantic chemistry.
“We still co-parent very well. Diamond and I have this thing where, whenever we meet, it’s all good vibes, which some people mistake for chemistry. It’s just good vibes because we’re not enemies. We’re raising our kids together,” Zari said.
This perspective is different from what was portrayed on the reality show Young, Famous & African, where Diamond often claimed that Zari still had feelings for him.
During the interview, Zari also touched on her marriage to her husband Shakib, who initially had concerns about her closeness with Diamond.
Previously, the couple had a tense moment on the reality show when Diamond suggested that Zari still wanted to have more children with him—a claim Zari firmly denied.
While Shakib was initially skeptical of his wife’s interactions with Diamond, Zari noted that he eventually trusted her intentions.

She admitted that her husband’s concerns were valid, acknowledging that the vibe between her and Diamond can sometimes come across as confusing.
However, Zari clarified that, as a married woman, she now fully understands the importance of respecting her husband and their marriage.
“My husband had issues with my closeness to Diamond because the vibe can feel different. So, if I can tone it down, I understand that now because I’m married. I need to respect him and our marriage. All of that is in the past,” Zari explained.
