The US presidential elections were called in favour of Republican candidate Donald Trump.

Trump won the Electoral College and popular votes.

Publicly, the democrats candidate Kamala Harris conceded the race late on Wednesday afternoon, telling supporters "do not despair".

The Harris campaign had hoped to reassemble the voting base that powered Biden's 2020 victory.
