Genge star Jua Cali has been hospitalized.
This was announced by his management giving reasons as to why he will not be performing in events that he had been booked for this weekend.
In a statement shared on the singer's social media, Mr Collins Odindo, Jua Cali's manager wrote " We regret to inform you that Jua Cali is currently in the hospital under observation."
He said the singer's doctors have advised him to remain on bed rest and under supervision for the next two to three days.
Adding "We are extremely disappointed with this turn of events especially as it comes just before his much-anticipated performances this weekend."
"Our thoughts are with Jua Cali and we wish him a swift recovery.,. We also extend our support to family, friends, and fans during this time."
The singer's wife, Lily Asigo also shared a photo of the singer in the hospital bed and wished him recovery.
"Prayers up, get well soon @juacaligenge healing is your portion."
Who Is Jua Cali
Paul Julius Nunda, better known by his stage name Jua Cali, is a Kenyan rapper and record producer.
In 2000, together with record producer Clemo, he founded Calif Records where he has been ever since, producing music that dominated East African music alongside Jose Chameleone of Uganda and Mr. Nice of Tanzania.
Jua Cali performs in Swahili and Sheng in a popular Kenyan style of rapping called genge.
