Gospel entertainer DJ Mo, whose real name is Samuel Muraya, has revealed how speaking openly about his marriage has unexpectedly turned him into a sought-after marriage advisor.
Speaking on the 26th episode of the Daddy X Mo Podcast, hosted alongside gospel singer Daddy Owen and featuring his wife Size 8, DJ Mo discussed the impact of sharing their personal relationship journey publicly.
The couple, who married in October 2013, have spent over 11 years in the public eye. They share two children, Wambo and Junior. Over the years, their relationship has faced public scrutiny, health challenges, miscarriages, and a temporary separation in 2024 before renewing their commitment in early 2025.
Embracing Public Transparency
DJ Mo explained that being honest about their marital ups and downs has encouraged many struggling couples to reach out to him for counselling and advice.

Rather than presenting a flawless image, the couple chose to share their real-life experiences on social media and their online show.
“Right now we have seen a lot of testimonies to a point there are a lot of prominent people who call us seeking advice for their marriages,” DJ Mo revealed.
Singer Size 8, born Linet Munyali, supported her husband during the podcast episode, noting that his openness has created a unique platform for ministry.
"Mo is called for marriages and family that is his highest calling,” Size 8 noted.
“The testimonies that we’ve gotten out of being real have saved a lot of marriages. That’s why sometimes we do what we do. We don’t have to do it, but for the testimony, and the things that marriage has changed and the people we reach… many people even don’t go to pastors, but when they come to us, they relate,” DJ Mo added.
Reaching Beyond the Pulpit
During the interview, the couple addressed the pressure facing public figures and the common temptation to hide personal difficulties. Size 8 highlighted that transparency allows everyday couples to relate to their experiences.
"Pride is what makes people don't want to show a part of their lives because you want to look perfect."
Co-host Daddy Owen observed that public figures often mirror the struggles of ordinary households. He noted that seeing a prominent couple navigate difficulties offers practical encouragement to listeners.
"Whatever you guys are showing us is what we exactly go through,” Daddy Owen added.

Size 8 added that a spiritual leader once reminded them of the reach their public life commands. She recalled being told: "You preach to more marriages than me."
The 80/20 Rule in Marriage
Addressing couples going through difficult seasons, Size 8 shared a practical principle the couple relies on during tough times, which she calls the 80/20 rule. She advised partners not to allow a minor setback to overshadow the overall health of their relationship.
"Don't look at that 20% and forget the 80% of how the Lord has been faithful,” Size 8 advised.
She further emphasised that maintaining a lasting union requires consistent commitment rather than mere words.
The Murayas continue to document their life and faith online. By sharing both their triumphs and their trials, DJ Mo and Size 8 aim to offer realistic hope to couples navigating the complexities of modern marriage.
