The rift escalated following Samidoh's relationship with Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu. In February 2023, Edday spoke out publicly on social media. She stated that the previous three years had brought continuous pain and humiliation. She declared that she would not raise her children in a polygamous setup.
Later in 2023, Edday relocated to the United States with their children. This began an extended period of physical separation between the couple.

Despite their earlier conflict, the pair’s public interactions have softened over recent months. Media outlets reported that the couple began spending time together during Samidoh’s tours in the United States.
