Radio host Mkamburi Chigogo has reacted to the alleged poisoning of Nairobi businesswoman Roselyn Ashanti Mchuna, saying some friendships turn dangerous when rivalry takes over.
“Some of your so-called friends are wicked!!!! Someone in her clique of friends poisoned her, leaving her in a vegetative state after inviting them for her birthday party,” Mkamburi Chigogo said in a post on Instagram on Thursday, October 29, 2026.

She also suggested that the public account of the incident was incomplete. Mkamburi said people who knew Roselyn Ashanti in Mombasa could shed more light on what happened.
“I hear there’s more to that story and people who knew her down there in Mombasa can attest to that,” she said.
Mkamburi on rivalry between friends
Mkamburi argued that no disagreement or rivalry could justify taking another person’s life. She urged people not to turn to violence, whatever has happened between them.
“Haijalishi mtu amefanya nini ama nini hakuna justification ya kutoa mtu uhai!” she stressed.

She added that some friendships are strained by competition, with people trying to outdo each other until the rivalry becomes dangerous. She called the situation unfortunate and asked how such a friendship could end with one person allegedly harming another.
“Most of these so-called friends compete with each other hadi mtu ana decide kumaliza mwenzake! Very unfortunate,” she wrote.
Roselyn Ashanti’s condition after the incident
Roselyn Ashanti Mchuna, a Nairobi businesswoman who ran Airbnb rentals across several towns, suffered severe brain damage after collapsing at her birthday party on 14 February 2026.
She was reportedly in good health before the celebration with friends. She suddenly collapsed and was rushed to hospital. Doctors are said to have found she had consumed a poisonous substance.

She reportedly suffered 50 per cent brain damage and spent months in intensive care. Her business operations are said to have stalled during that time.
Her mother’s care
Mchuna is reportedly being looked after full time by her mother, who handles her daily needs and recovery.
