President William Ruto outlined Kenya’s strategic priorities during the second day of the Third Russia-Africa Summit.
President Ruto departed Kenya on October 27, 2026, to attend the two-day Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum, which concluded on October 29.
Addressing delegates at the summit, President Ruto detailed key economic areas aimed at deepening bilateral relations and driving domestic industrial development.
A major priority for Kenya is securing support to establish local fertiliser manufacturing capabilities, a move designed to boost agricultural productivity while significantly reducing expensive imports.
To further strengthen the agricultural sector, Kenya is seeking access to modern farming machinery and advanced irrigation technology.
Beyond agriculture, Kenya's agenda emphasises energy infrastructure expansion, particularly through direct foreign investment in renewable power projects.
The strategy also calls for supporting domestic mineral processing and manufacturing to promote value addition within the country.
