Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has been named the party leader-designate of the Linda Mwananchi Movement (LMM), with Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya appointed to head its presidential campaign.

‎The appointments were announced Friday during the official launch of the movement, which is seeking to establish its leadership ahead of the 2027 General Election.

‎In a notice issued by the movement's communication head Pauline Njoroge, Sifuna will be deputised by former Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza, Faith Odhiambo and Patrick Makau, while a fourth deputy party leader position has been reserved for the Coast region.

‎"Their appointments are subject to approval by the movement's National Delegates Convention (NDC) scheduled for November 13, 2026," said Njoroge.

‎Siaya Senator Godfrey Osotsi has been named chairperson-designate, with former Makadara MP Reuben Ndolo appointed vice-chairperson. A second vice-chairperson position has also been reserved for the Coast region.

‎Former Rarieda MP Caroli Omondi will serve as secretary general, deputised by Pauline Njoroge, who will also head the movement's communication function.

‎Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka has been appointed treasurer, with Abigael Gikonyo as deputy treasurer.

‎Carey Karani will serve as organising secretary, deputised by Wilberforce Oundo.

‎The movement has also appointed Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale as secretary for political affairs and campaigns, while Fredah Onduso will oversee youth affairs.

‎Francy Kadide has been named secretary for legal affairs, with Jack Wamboka taking charge of public policy and economic affairs.

‎Other appointments include Dr Gilbert Shanga as secretary for international affairs, Dr Eunice Juma as secretary for diaspora affairs and Caroline Mayunzu as secretary for women's affairs.

‎Barbara Malowa will head the National Elections Board, while Torome Nalengoyo has been appointed secretary for minority affairs.

‎Natembeya will chair the party trustees and lead the presidential campaign, with Odhiambo serving as his deputy in the campaign role.

‎The announcement establishes the movement's proposed leadership structure as its members prepare for the delegates' convention, where the appointments will be considered for approval.

‎The reservation of positions for the Coast region in both the deputy party leadership and vice-chairperson roles signals an effort to accommodate regional representation within the movement's proposed top leadership.

‎The launch comes as political formations begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 elections, with party structures and leadership arrangements expected to shape emerging alliances and campaign strategies.
