Kenyan content creator Alma Mutheu Muthoni has left fans concerned after sharing an emotional video from her YouTube channel, where she broke down while opening up about a difficult experience she says she never expected to face.
The content creator, who recently announced her pregnancy on her YouTube channel, appeared overwhelmed with emotion as she spoke about the struggles she has been dealing with privately while continuing to show up for her professional commitments.
Alma Mutheu Says She Has Been Crying in Private
In the emotional video, Alma revealed that some of her friends had recently started noticing changes in her appearance, with some asking her why she had changed and whether she had something to tell them.
“Mbona umebadilika, unanona nona, kuna kitu utuambie?” she recalled her friends asking her.
However, despite what she had been going through behind closed doors, Alma said she had repeatedly assured them that everything was fine, even when she had spent the entire night crying.
“I didn't expect something like this could happen to me because I do plan my things. I usually tell myself before something happens, nakuanga nimejipanga,” she explained.
Alma acknowledged that some experiences had caught her unprepared, forcing her to navigate difficult emotions while maintaining the appearance that everything was under control.
The content creator revealed that she had continued attending shoots and fulfilling her responsibilities despite feeling sad and emotionally drained.
She described showing up for work with swollen, red eyes after crying, only for people to ask her what was wrong.
According to Alma, she would simply tell them she was okay, even when that was far from the truth.
She also spoke about the pressure that comes with being a leader, explaining that she sometimes feels she cannot afford to be seen crying all the time and instead has to pretend that she is doing well.
“There's that pressure as a leader. You can't be always crying. You have to just pretend,” she said.
Content Creator Reveals How Friend Noticed Something Was Wrong
Alma further disclosed that one of her friends had begun noticing that something was wrong.
She explained that she had been telling the friend she was suffering from a cold, seemingly hoping to conceal what she was really experiencing.
However, the situation became harder to hide when the friend recently found her in a state that made it difficult to maintain the explanation.
Overwhelmed, Alma struggled to find the words to explain what she was going through, eventually admitting that she did not know how to explain the situation to her audience.

Meanwhile, Alma's pregnancy announcement has sparked heated reactions online, with some social media users bringing her rumoured boyfriend, Gift, into the discussion.
The conversation has revived memories of Alma's appearance on Oga Obinna's show, where she claimed that Gift barely contributed to their living expenses, including rent and fuel for her car.
