The Ministry of Health says there is no evidence of community transmission of Bundibugyo Virus Disease in Kenya, with all 14 samples tested from alerts across the country in the past 24 hours returning negative results. The Ministry says all 135 contacts linked to the initial case have been traced, while the first eligible contacts are expected to complete their 21-day monitoring period and return home from this Sunday. The update follows the eighth National Ebola Taskforce meeting, chaired by Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards Mary Muthoni, to review surveillance, patient care, isolation facilities and essential supplies.
