The Thamani Asili conservation programme is targeting more than 20,000 direct and indirect jobs while benefiting about 1.6 million people across the country. The initiative, launched at Tsavo West National Park, will support more than 130 community conservancies across four priority landscapes. KWS Director General Erustus Kanga says community participation, sustainable livelihoods and practical solutions to human-wildlife conflict will be central to its implementation.
