President William Ruto has commissioned the new County Government of Nandi headquarters in Kapsabet, marking the completion of a long-stalled project aimed at improving the delivery of services to residents.
Governor Stephen Sang, who led area elected leaders, including Members of Parliament and Members of the County Assembly, received the President at the facility.
The headquarters is expected to serve as the central administrative hub for the county government, bringing executive offices under one roof and improving coordination among departments responsible for implementing development programmes and delivering public services.
The project, which had stalled for years, was revived under Sang’s administration as part of efforts to complete long-standing development projects inherited by the county government.
Its completion marks a new phase for the county administration, which has been seeking to establish a modern working environment for public officers while improving the efficiency of government operations.

The facility is also expected to ease access to county government services by providing residents with a central point for engaging with various departments and seeking assistance on matters relating to health, agriculture, infrastructure and other devolved functions.
The investment is significant for Kapsabet, Nandi County’s administrative headquarters, which also serves as an important commercial centre for the region.
The new complex is expected to reinforce the town’s role as the centre of county government operations and public administration.
The county headquarters project had faced prolonged delays before the current administration moved to revive and complete it, making its commissioning a milestone in the county’s efforts to deliver public infrastructure and improve the working environment for its staff.
