The government has begun handing over bodies of victims exhumed from Kwa Binzaro Forest in Kilifi to their families, as the case into suspected religious extremism continues in court. Government pathologist Richard Njoroge says 53 bodies and 44 body parts have been recovered from the forest so far. The remains are believed to belong to followers of controversial preacher Paul Mackenzie, who allegedly promoted radical teachings and urged followers to fast to death in the belief they would meet Jesus.
