The initiative, aimed at uplifting vulnerable children and strengthening community welfare, was executed through KPA’s Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programme in partnership with the Vet Lab Sports Club.
The handover ceremony took place on Thursday at the centre’s grounds in Nairobi County, bringing together KPA executives, sports club representatives, and centre officials.

Speaking on behalf of KPA Managing Director Captain William Ruto, Director of Communication Davison Buchere commended the caregivers and facility leaders for their selflessness. He highlighted the severe challenges the centre faces, including providing specialized medical care for several children suffering from heart conditions.

In Kenya, treating a heart malfunction can cost up to Sh1.2 million, creating an immense financial burden in a country where approximately 5,000 children are living with heart disease.
"Giving less fortunate children an equal chance to that of their peers is an investment in the future of this nation," Buchere stated, emphasizing that true national development requires coordinated action between corporate bodies, government agencies, and civil society.

The donation directly aligns with KPA’s broader CSI framework, which prioritizes key pillars including health, education, humanitarian assistance, water and sanitation, and youth empowerment.
Since 2000, KPA has funded and supported more than 60 infrastructure projects across Kenya. These include healthcare and education facilities such as dispensaries, school laboratories, libraries, dormitories, classrooms, and administration blocks.
Additionally, KPA has backed specialized care facilities, including the Machakos Girls Rescue Centre, Jawabu Rehabilitation Centre, Nakuru Hill Special School, and Kisii Special School for the Deaf.
By continuing to partner with local institutions and sports organizations, KPA reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that vulnerable children receive the care, dignity, and opportunities needed to grow into the nation's future leaders.
