President William Ruto interacted with residents at Kapyego market in Marakwet East, Elgeyo Marakwet county, on Tuesday, 13 October 26, during his development tour of the North Rift region.
The visit included a series of planned infrastructure initiatives, among them the commissioning of the Kipkuldul-Kapyego-Kamalei road, the launch of a water project and the groundbreaking for a new Economic Stimulus Programme market.
The projects form part of the government’s wider development agenda, which includes improving road connectivity, expanding access to water and providing market facilities for traders.
Ruto’s visit to Elgeyo Marakwet is part of a multi-county tour ahead of Mashujaa Day celebrations, scheduled for October 20 in the North Rift region. The tour includes project inspections, commissioning ceremonies and public engagements with residents.
