Religious leaders and civil society groups have opposed a proposed sh10 million vehicle grant for judges, warning it could cost taxpayers billions of shillings. The groups estimate the benefit could cost up to sh2.3 billion every four years if extended across the Judiciary. They have urged the Supreme Court to uphold public accountability, saying the money could instead support essential services such as healthcare, education and infrastructure.
