MAKE POSSIBLE HEADLINES Lands Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome has defended government ownership of land earmarked for the Sh2 trillion Dangote East Africa Refinery in Lamu, saying most of the site is public land. Wahome said genuine squatters and landowners with legitimate claims will be identified and addressed, while accusing some opponents of creating obstacles to development. Residents challenging the project in court say they have occupied the land for generations and deserve compensation and resettlement.
