A 22-year-old man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after being convicted of defiling a 13-year-old schoolgirl in Kwale County. Principal Magistrate Rose Ombata found Mboga Abubakar Bedera guilty of defiling the minor in December 2022 in Msambweni. The ODPP said the girl had visited the convict’s home with three friends before he ordered the others to leave and prevented her from leaving. The court heard that he assaulted the girl after threatening her when she screamed.
