A wanted suspect was arrested in Butula, Busia County, after violently attacking police officers with a panga, seriously injuring a constable and cutting a G3 rifle into two pieces. Stephen Ouma Okinda, 36, had been evading arrest since allegedly assaulting his father last week. Police Constable Voustine Atinya suffered two deep cuts to the head during the confrontation. Officers eventually overpowered Okinda and detained him at Bumala Police Station.
