A section of Ukambani pro-government leaders has criticized retired President Uhuru Kenyatta for claiming that former Prime Minister Raila Odinga won the 2022 presidential election. Led by Mwala MP Vincent Kawaya, the leaders said the remarks could cause political tension as the country heads towards the 2027 General Election. They have urged Uhuru, as a retired Head of State, to remain a statesman and retire from active politics.
