The government is intensifying measures to mitigate the impact of El Niño in Nairobi. Deputy President Kithure Kindiki made the assurance after meeting key state agencies to review the city’s preparedness. The agencies agreed to fast-track dredging and drainage clearance, inspect power transmission lines and strengthen other ongoing interventions. Kindiki assured Nairobi residents of government support to minimize loss and damage, urging them to follow public safety directives.
