NEDP official Francis Wambua has been filmed at a bank handling stacks of cash in a video shared online by the party's Deputy Party Leader Anthony Manyara.
The video shows Wambua standing at a bank counter as money is handled by a staff member on the other side of the counter.
At one point, several bundles of Kenyan currency can be seen arranged on the counter, with some of the notes stacked into sizeable piles.
The footage was shared by Manyara on Instagram on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, with the words “Campaign Mood” appearing on the video.

In the opening part of the footage, Wambua is seen at the counter as a bank employee appears to count and organise the money.
The video then focuses on several stacks of notes placed on the counter, giving viewers a clearer look at the amount of cash involved.
Text placed over the video reads that “Francis Wambua withdraws to support NEDP aspirants.”
Manyara's caption accompanying the footage reads: “Chama ni NEDP. Party Leader ni Sonkoree.”
The post does not state the amount of money shown in the video or provide further details on which specific aspirants the funds are intended to support.
Who is Francis Wambua?
Wambua is an NEDP official and has previously been identified as the party's National Treasurer.
Reports on NEDP's leadership structure have listed him in that position since the party's leadership was announced.
The party has been preparing for the 2027 electoral cycle and has been engaging people seeking to contest various elective positions on its ticket. In July, NEDP held a meeting with more than 20 aspiring leaders from Mandera County seeking to vie for different positions. Wambua was among the senior party officials who attended the meeting.
NEDP's constitution also assigns the National Treasurer responsibilities including coordinating the party's resource mobilisation and fundraising activities, preparing budgets and overseeing financial affairs.
The latest footage has since drawn attention online because of the large stacks of cash visible at the bank counter.
However, the video does not state the exact amount withdrawn, nor does it identify the individual aspirants who would benefit from the money.
Kenyans reacted to the video in the comments, and this is what they had to say:
