The High Court has awarded blogger and activist Ndiang’ui Kinyagia Sh5 million in damages after finding that police violated his rights during a raid at his Kinoo home in June 2025. Justice Patricia Mande ruled that the DCI breached his rights to privacy and property by searching his home and seizing his belongings. The court also stopped further prosecution linked to the investigations, declaring the process unconstitutional. Kinyagia had gone into hiding after learning that the DCI was looking for him over a social media post linked to anti-government protests.
