A section of Muslim clerics has urged political leaders to take the lead in promoting peace as the country prepares for the 2027 General Election. Led by Abubakar Bini, the religious leaders warned politicians against using goons to disrupt rivals’ meetings, saying such actions could have serious consequences and plunge the country into lawlessness. They called on leaders to embrace peaceful political competition and allow their opponents to hold meetings without interference.
