A former USIU-Africa student is set for sentencing next month for murdering a fellow student in 2012. Dancun Kimathi was convicted after evidence showed he lured, abducted, and killed Sarah Akello following a ransom demand. A postmortem examination established that Akello died from manual strangulation.
