Deputy Speaker Gladys Shollei has called on the media to avoid trivialising reports of gender-based violence, saying survivors deserve serious attention and protection. Speaking during a Kenya-Romania conference on protecting women and children, Shollei also called for an end to cultural attitudes that encourage abused women to persevere in violent relationships. She said cultural bias must be addressed to tackle GBV.
