Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen says the Police Service has 91,814 male officers and 16,768 female officers. CS Murkomen says the current gender ratio falls short of the two-thirds gender principle under the Constitution. He says the State Department is implementing targeted recruitment strategies to increase female representation under its Affirmative Action Programme for the 2026/27 and 2027/28 financial years.
