Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe says the current milk shortage is not as severe as perceived, with national production declining by about five percent due to the ongoing drought. Kagwe said some farmers are hoarding the produce and selling it directly to consumers a ta a better price. He has now urged dairy cooperatives to pay farmers on time and offer competitive prices to discourage direct sales and ensure a steady supply of milk.
