Oscar-winning Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o has returned to live theatre, opening the Off-Broadway play Pre-Existing Condition at Greenwich House Theater in New York. The production, directed by Maria Dizzia, explores the emotional aftermath of an abusive relationship. Nyong’o previously made her Broadway debut in Eclipsed in 2016, earning a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress.
