DCP party leader Rigathi Gachagua has defended former President Uhuru Kenyatta following attacks by President William Ruto, who has accused him of bankrolling the opposition. In a statement, Gachagua said Ruto was elected despite Uhuru’s opposition to his candidacy because Uhuru failed to convince Kenyans to reject him, even though that was the right thing to do. Gachagua further reminded Ruto that Uhuru is not his opponent in the 2027 election, but the people of Kenya.
