President William Ruto has defended the government’s proposed full loan-based funding model for tertiary education, saying it will prioritize students’ academic ability rather than their parents’ financial status. Speaking during the award of a Letter of Interim Authority to Kamagambo University, Ruto said the model is designed to make higher education funding more equitable and sustainable in the long term.
