Government officials have welcomed Kenya’s selection to host the 2029 World Athletics Championships, the first time the global senior event will be held in Africa. Sports CS Salim Mvurya says the opportunity will allow Kenya to showcase its sporting talent, while Tourism CS Rebecca Miano says the championships will expose Magical Kenya to thousands of athletes, fans and international visitors. Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen has described the hosting rights as a proud moment for the country.
