Mabatini MCA Wilfred Odalo /HANDOUT

Mabatini Member of County Assembly  Wilfred Odalo has taken the lead in the Mathare parliamentary race, according to a recent poll by Intouch Polls Kenya.

The survey places Odalo at 39 per cent, ahead of Mohammed Ali at 12 per cent, while incumbent Mathare MP Anthony Oluoch is ranked third with 12 per cent.

Odalo has welcomed the findings, saying the ratings reflect his growing popularity and track record in development and community service.

“I have just been informed that Intouch firm released a poll placing me ahead of other aspirants. I can confirm to you that I am on the ground asking for votes and supporting lives out there, so it is actually accurate. Our stand is that we shall continue helping our people better their lives,” he said.

The poll comes just days after Odalo was recognised as the best-performing MCA in the country by a Swiss international firm.

Odalo said his experience in ward leadership and his work at the Nairobi County Assembly had equipped him with the skills and understanding needed to serve residents at the constituency level.

“Over the last 14 years, we have been doing well, and I want to promise my constituents that I shall endeavour to do even better when given the MP seat come 2027,” Odalo said.

He also highlighted his role as Chairperson of the Nairobi County Assembly Budget Committee, saying he has worked to ensure that the county budget addresses the needs of residents.

“As Budget Chair of the Nairobi County Assembly, I have made sure that our budget is robust and streamlined to suit our needs,” he added.
