First Lady Rachel Ruto has urged communities, particularly men, to take the lead in protecting women from gender-based violence. Speaking in Vihiga during a women’s empowerment forum, she expressed concern over the rising cases of gender-based violence in the county and called for stronger community action to safeguard women. The First Lady also praised the government for strengthening collaboration with county governments in implementing development projects.
