Prof John Weru has called for stronger patient safety systems to protect people living with non-communicable diseases (NCDs) from preventable harm. Weru, Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs at Aga Khan University Medical College, East Africa, said safe, coordinated and continuous care was essential throughout patients’ treatment journeys. He said the World Patient Safety Day conference provides an opportunity to identify gaps, share solutions and strengthen NCD care.
