Pharmacists and pharmaceutical technologists staged protests in Nairobi yesterday over new guidelines that they say could restrict the role of pharmaceutical technologists in some health facilities. Kenya Pharmaceutical Association Secretary General Eric Gichane said the main concern was the introduction of different levels and categories for pharmacy outlets and practice. Gichane said the proposed guidelines would prevent pharmaceutical technologists from practising or superintending level three facilities.
