Safina Party leader Jimi Wanjigi is calling on the government to pay former Kenya Air Force personnel their court-awarded compensation and pension benefits arising from the 1982 attempted coup. More than 280 former servicemen have been pursuing billions of shillings in compensation over unlawful detention, torture and dismissal. In November last year, the Employment and Labour Relations Court ordered the government to pay the veterans about Sh7.9 billion.
