The National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC) has called for urgent action to address challenges facing survivors of gender-based violence. The commission has blamed delays in government services and the shortage of rescue centres for hindering support to survivors. NGEC Chairperson Rehema Jaldesa said the available rescue centers remain inadequately funded, limiting their ability to provide efficient and effective services.
