Kenya and the United States are seeking to deepen commercial ties, with a focus on expanding trade and attracting private investment. Speaking while hosting a US Chamber of Commerce delegation in Nairobi, Foreign Affairs PS Korir Sing’oei commended the US Congress for extending AGOA through 2028, saying the move provides greater assurance for exporters and investors. Priority areas include digital economy and fintech, healthcare and critical minerals, among others. The engagement builds on President William Ruto’s State Visit to Washington in May 2024.
