Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has praised the Senate Standing Committee on Devolution and Intergovernmental Relations for suspending the Sh80 billion cooperation agreement between the national government and Nairobi County. Speaking on the Senate floor, Sifuna said such agreements must be anchored in law and subjected to public participation. He condemned the blatant disregard of the law and warned both levels of government against ignoring the committee’s and Senate’s directives.
