The Nubian Rights Forum has blamed ongoing human rights violations against foreign nationals on the misinterpretation of the President’s directive to evict foreigners doing business without permits. Director Shafi Hussein says the directive should have been clearly worded to prevent conflict, noting that East African countries and their citizens need one another. Police have arrested several people accused of attacking foreigners following the directive.
