Former AG Justin Muturi has urged the government to move from what he describes as political mobilisation to national mobilisation in preparation for a possible high-impact El Niño event. Muturi says preparedness should come before disaster, calling for a clear command structure and operational plans to protect lives, homes, food supplies and livelihoods. His call comes even as Public Health PS Mary Muthoni stated that they are rolling out its El Niño preparedness plan in 18 high-risk counties as it seeks support from partners to mitigate the effects of the expected heavy rains.
