The LSK is calling on the government to review its directive restricting foreign nationals from engaging in certain forms of small-scale trade. LSK says Kenya has a right to regulate trade and enforce immigration laws, but must respect the Constitution and its obligations under the EAC Treaty and Common Market Protocol. The society says restrictions should target specific violations and not be based solely on nationality. Meanwhile, Kabuchai MP Majimbo wants the government to ensure that the rights of the affected foreigners are protected.
