The LSK has condemned reported cases of Kenyans confronting, intimidating and attacking foreign traders following the government directive on small-scale trade. LSK says no government directive authorises members of the public to assault traders, confiscate goods or interfere with their businesses. The society is urging authorities to protect those at risk, investigate reported attacks and ensure enforcement is carried out only by authorised public institutions.
