First Lady Rachel Ruto has called for stronger protection systems for children facing abuse and violence. Speaking in Nairobi, Rachel said children who report abuse must find a system that listens, protects, investigates and takes action. She also called for children to remain in school, saying poverty, teenage pregnancy, HIV status, disability or difficult circumstances should not permanently end their education. She urged parents, teachers and community leaders to be safe adults children can trust.
