NTSA has arrested 23 pedestrians for allegedly crossing Thika Superhighway at Fig Tree instead of using a designated footbridge, as authorities intensify a citywide road-safety crackdown. The pedestrians were arrested during a joint operation on Tuesday and are expected to face court charges. NTSA said unsafe crossings endanger road users and disrupt traffic flow. At least 250 pedestrians had been arrested in Nairobi by July 31, with pedestrian deaths accounting for 38 per cent of fatalities.
