The fire that has been ravaging sections of the Mt Kenya forest since the beginning of the month is now 85 percent contained. Environment Cabinet Secretary Deborah Barasa said the inferno has affected more than 3,000 hectares of forest cover. A multi-agency team comprising personnel from the Kenya Forest Service, Kenya Defence Forces and local communities has been deployed to contain the blaze and prevent further spread.
